Branson has a rich heritage that started back in 1882 when
Rueben Branson opened a small general store at a riverboat stop.
Named after Rueben, it became the post office and was listed as
Branson, Missouri. Entertainers started performing in the early 1950’s
which has now grown to 52 theatres, more than 100 shows and
